Mingun and Mandalay

On our second day in Mandalay we took a boat trip up the Ayeyarwady River to Mingun, the site of two famous pagodas.



We saw people bathing in the river…



and bamboo being floated to market…



climbed the Mya Thein Tan temple…



and Gail visited a rest home for older Burmese who lack family to care for them.



After returning to Mandalay we saw many other sights, but the highlight was sunset at the U Bein Bridge, the longest bridge built of teak.
